As Rastafarian culture in Africa evolves through various iterations the practitioners in Durban, South Africa, have to marry traditional Zulu ways to those subscribed to by the Rastafarian faith, a juggling act they attest when it comes to dietary restrictions, popularity of Christianity, and some negative perceptions of Rasta tradition. The culture thrives however and much respect is given to a true Rasta walking down the street in the townships of Durban and throughout South Africa. Rasta Life features interviews with Rastafarians in Durban, from merchants to musicians, also featuring the music and members of the Kwa Mashu-based Edenic People band.
