The Masculinity Project: Losing My Way 10mins

Produced by Saalim Muslim (Reelworks Teen Filmmaking)

A young teen explores his bipolar mind through poetry and dance. What is the internal life of a young black man dealing with external stereotypes? How do these external stereotypes function within internal conflicts? Do young black men see mental illness as a sign of weakness? And what does this mean for the destiny of young men dealing with these very serious issues?

This is amazing to me! This describes so much of how a bipolar person struggles and I am thankful for you making this film. People are not crazy we have different ways of experiencing things and are misunderstood when we dont fit in a box.. Thanks for this film. I struggle with this.

I love the way this movie takes performance and makes it a reality of portraying masculinity. Very rare. The black man is rarely seen as so introspective on his condition. Job well done!
